Edge Hill University Press has joined forces again with Crooked Dice Game Design Studio – this time to offer students a unique and exciting opportunity to develop and write 7TV: Fantasy, a narrative-driven miniatures wargame using the established 7TV ruleset.

7TV: Fantasy brings the worlds of fantasy film and television to the tabletop for miniature battles, campaign play and small-scale mayhem. Two years of research, development, playtesting and demonstrating will bring a fourth boxed set to life – set to be launched at the UK Games Expo in 2021.

Students will get an excellent opportunity to gain not only genuine game design, research, writing and development experience in a commercial context, but also professional skills valued by employers.

7TV: Fantasy is the second collaboration between EHUP and Crooked Dice. Between 2017 and 2019, sixteen Edge Hill University students worked as interns to develop, playtest and launch 7TV: Pulp, a tabletop skirmish game based on the cinema serials and pulp fiction of the 1930s and 1940s. The game was published in May 2019 to great success. The students involved found the experience invaluable in helping develop their careers.
