I've just finished painting the SHIVA cultists and when it came to the sigils, I just did triangle, square, circle, blob, over and over again.  To ACTUALLY paint sigils blows my mind!  Well done.

The weird thing is that, in real life, he's really undefined and lacking in detail. I think there's some kind of reverse "Portrait of Dorian Gray" thing going on.

Failed Experiment. From Crooked Dice. All done in Foundry paints with Foundry brushes. The bases look a bit odd because they were just temporary ones for photography. The in scene shot features Copplestone Props and Equipment and Set Designer walls and floor from the Crooked Dice, designed by me.

Always thought this model had a lovely tragicomic look about him…

They are excellent miniatures, I do wish they were slotta based, makes changing the bases easier.

Painting black clad figures is difficult for us mere mortals ^___^, they are brilliant.

Lovely rendition, it gives it a suitably ethereal feel.

It would also work as siren or other aquatic horror as it looks like it is under water, just change the grass to seaweed.

I note that you use different paint sets for different projects. Any particular reason for that? Are some better suited than others or just a spur-of-the-moment thing?

I use army painter paints on the North Star models because I work for North Star and they supply those paints, which they sell.
When I am doing my own stuff I use the vast stock of Foundry paints I have from when I used to work for them…

Qualitatively there is no difference. The only real difference is the size of the ranges. Both have good black and white, the rest of the colours vary depending on the pigments.

Thankfully, I find Kev's work inspiring.

It is comparing my efforts to those of other contributors that I find slightly dispiriting...

On the subject of inspiring, leBrock looks great, now where did I put that undercoated miniature.

Failed Experiment. From Crooked Dice. All done in Foundry paints with Foundry brushes. The base looks a bit odd because they were just temporary ones for photography. The in scene shot features Copplestone Props and Equipment and Set Designer walls and floor from the Crooked Dice, designed by me.

Ice Toad, painted for Frostgrave, North Star Military Models

These large, slow amphibious creatures have devastatingly powerful jaws, but are otherwise weak. Generally it is just best to avoid them, but can be an Animal Companion. Animal companions may not collect treasure or carry items.

Major Demon, painted for Frostgrave, North Star Military Models
Major demons are powerful, individual entities. There is no limit to size or shape they can take. There are a few more commons types of major demon, such as genies.

Minor Demon painted for Frostgrave, North Star Military Models
While minor demons also come in an infinite number of forms, there are definite species of minor demon. Probably the most common look like gargoyles. They are about human sized, but tend to walk hunched over, sometimes using their hands to walk. Another common form is something like a satyr, with the top half of a human, usually with horns, and the bottom half of an animal, generally a goat, pig, or snake.

2016. As well as 2015’s painting this year’s pictures will also include some older stuff that I have recently taken new pictures of, so please forgive the gaudy over-painting and yellowing varnish; for example, most of the Foundry cowboys were painted 20 years ago.

I was missing because of pressure of work (good) and illness (bad)

One thing that catches my eye every time with the Frostgrave miniatures is how you've done the basing, brilliant.

I love the Frostgrave models but to me they seem a bit underscale compared to what I'm used to. And wierd choice of bases they went for, presumably they are less hassle to get in tight spaces on a table. Great painting as always!
