Can you fire a gun while invisible and if so does it make you visable again. The rules say melee attacks do. As it specifies Melee but not attacks in general would you be kind enough to clarify. It's just that Invisible Aliens with disintergrator guns are really quite nasty.
When I palyed with an invisible cast member he followed the other player around almost invulnerable, was great for me but not for him Plus if the syrum wore off a luck point easily changed that result
The rules state Melee which is a physical contact between two opponents, merely firing a weapon isnt and can be done whilst reclining in your armchair if you like.
However for the balance of the game and the sanity of your severly pee'd off opponent......?
Theres a couple of ways to look at this literally and logically.

Invisible - The model can turn invisible (or return to normal) at the beginning of any of their activations. While invisible they cannot be attacked, blocked or otherwise interfered with by any opposing models. Melee attacks instigated by an invisible model gain an initial +1 hit bonus due to the element of surprise. Invisible models lose their invisibility after the first round of melee combat.
As the rules for Invisible ONLY specify Melee Combat its likely to have been an oversight - I would (personally) amend the entry to read "Invisible models lose their invisibility after the first round of combat", not just melee combat. If you are playing against an RT (Rules Tosser) they might argue as it specifies Melee Combat, ranged combat isn't possible whilst Invisible (you know the type).
Upon saying that, you are only ever going to get away with the Disintigrator/Invisibility trick once, as any opponent worth their salt is going to take Infra-red Spectacles forever and a day afterward!

Infra-red Spectacles - Ignore hit modifiers for soft cover, immune to Concealment and Invisible special effects

I would say ANY attacks cause you to appear visible.
