Here my first few figs painted. I have a load of minions in the works.

Pandora has a bit of a Fallout theme as I plan to use her and the minions across genre's

Check out my blog there are some other pics there as well as some KKBB stuff plus my Artizan guards

I hate painting eyes btw and are hit n miss on my figures

Thanks guys. I have to admit I don't know who half the characters are based on. Some are obvious like Captain Scarlet etc but I have no idea about the stories behind them.

At the moment i'm downloading the original series of 'The Prisoner' But the man from 2000 is he out that same series? What about Pandora King what is she from?

Any pointers for background would be greatly appreciated

The Man from 2000 is based upon Commander Ed Straker from UFO, Pandora King is Mrs Peel (as played by Diana Rigg in the Avengers)

Don't by an original Dinky, not very nice looking and too expensive.

There was a debate in another thread about such things, the Metal Product Enterprises SPV is (in theory) the correct size - however the Plastic soundtech SPV (which is bigger) looks better.

Watch out as there are a few versions out there (Corgi, Dinky, etc).

I've got a Corgi SPV and Rhino from before I started collecting for 7TV and they are more suited to 20mm IMO.

However, the Dinky versions are 1/43 or 1/44 (depending on which site you go to).

I have a Patrol Car and a Max Security Vehicle and they look great (again IMO) with Crooked Dice's figures.

Strictly speaking 1/43 is a bigger scale than the figures but I prefer my vehicles slightly larger than true scale and once the figures are on Slotta bases they look cool next to them.

The problem you do have with the Dinky vehicles is the price. To get a mint vehicle you are talking silly money.

I bought both of mine as damaged and paint chipped. I took them apart re-painted the vehicle body and made slight repairs on the suspension of the Patrol Car and they're sorted.

Once I've painted up my TLS figures I'll put some pics up for scale for the Patrol car.

I hope you meant THE ORIGINAL Series, not the (frankly slow and boring) remake.

I love Arrival, it asks so many questions of the viewer.

OK - my own personal recommended Viewing.

The Prisoner
UFO
Blakes 7

You have the aforementioned, great place to start.

Space 1999
Department S
Jason King
Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)
Strange Report
Adam Adamant
The Champions
The Prisoner
The Saint
Return Of The Saint
The Man from UNCLE
The Avengers
The New Avengers

1960's Spy-Fi Movies (Bond, Helm, Flint et al)

Optional (but fun)

It Takes A Thief (Robert Wagner as a Jewel Thief turned Secret Agent - great series)
Saphire & Steel
The Tomorrow People

There's a bespectacled agent with an SMG in this pack from Artizan:

I like your mini's, but would suggest you make the mouths a little more obvious. Don't go overboard though, you don't want the chaps to look like they're wearing lipstick!

Oh, but the brainwashing machine in The Ipcress File is the purest spy-fi, and Billion Dollar Brain is dafter than Matt Helm and Derek Flint combined.

Make sure ur linework is present, using a brown ink/paint is better on a mouth than black. If you highlight the lips properly on male lips, there is no real need for "pinking"

Cheers guys The armed minions where easy to make them look different by twisting the head but the unarmed set was different some turns of the head just didn't look right.

I have some conversion ideas roaring round my head at the moment. There might be some different versions of men from the future show up at some point.

Don't suppose anyone knows what happened to the range that Ebob produced a few (quite a few) years ago - I know another website had them for a while (Area 51, I think?), but they seem to have vanished after that.

They are 28mm, but from quite a time ago, so are 'short' 28mm, but much bigger than 20mm, lol!

Perhaps someone at Ebob might do them again (but a little taller, perhaps?).

They've got quite an odd range. The 'Clerks' set (Modern Horror) apparently features Arkwright, Granville and Nurse Gladys Emmanuel from 'Open All Hours', along with comedy writer and TV host Dennis Norden.

A mixture 3 are warmacre figs, one is a foundry street violence. The foundry one has had a lot done to it. I'm unsure whether I should try and sculpt a belt across the front or not. I'm gonna get another Pandora as a leader

So far what i've done is
I've basically filed down the seam on the bottom of the shorts
File down the big boots/socks.
Removed the roller blade from the bottom of the boots.
Filed down the knot on her top then filled the gap between the top and the top of the shorts.
Added ammo pouches on the back and a grenade/pouch on the side.

I can't decide whether to undercoat and see if it looks good or add to it now?

The only problem with a big list is that if things have to change for any reason, we just feel like we let people down.

What sort of person gives a puppy a loaded gun?

What sort of pistol could a puppy that you could hold in your hand be able to hold?

Best thing ever. I will put some pics of dipped miniatures up. Honestly, basic paint job (single colour) + one highlight on edges etc, dip and that's it. Easily 100% gameable model. The dip goes in all the cracks and adds depth, saves me LOADS of time.

I don't use dip, but having spoken to several who do. The best technique seems to be to BRUSH it on rather than dip the figure. This allows you to control the amount you put on much better than dipping the figure. It also means that you use less "dip" and don't loose all feeling in your arm as you try to shake the excess off. But having never used it, and only talking with others what do I know?

I use a massive cheap brush and it works for me. You need to take a look at it about 1 minute later to make sure you're not getting a bottomless pool of dip anywhere on your miniature. But brush rather than dip.

I use the Army Painter medium. It probably is the same as wood stain (brown, glossy, spirit based) but if you went for wood stain you would have to take a guess at how stained you wanted it. Places like B&Q have wood up showing the effects of each stain so you could take a decent guess.

lost of do it your self washes, tinted to your desire.  Not really cheaper to do it yourself, but more flexible.

http://theleadheadblog.blogspot.com/2010/07/making-your-own-washes.html

My personal is flow aid, paint and some flat sealer to cut the gloss.  I saw some suggestions for flat glazing medium added on occasion, but I'm not convinced that it isn't detrimental to the mix (greying it out).

There are all sorts of options for 'dips', we were doing it for Games Day Armies that way a LONG time before Army Painter patented it and turned it into a business.

My mate Nigel first showed me, he used Yacht Varnish Stained with Shoe Polish (dark brown) - worked exactly the same way as the Strong (medium) tone.

Citadel Gloss Varnish, Water, a Dot of Washing Up Liquid (as a flow enhancer) and then stain with your ink/paint of choice - works EXACTLY the same way.

My current favourite, told me by my mate Simon (Mad McGobbo to those who follow his website/blog) - Gryphonne Sepia/Asureman Blue (7 to 1 ratio) works like a charm, isn't too thick, and dries matt too!

I have dipped all my Warmachine miniatures and it gives them a great 'grimy', lived in look which really brings out the annoyingly picky detail perfectly.

ACTUALLY thats the exact same reason I used the Strong Tone on my Mindstalkers miniatures (well, the commoners anyway)

I've used the Army Painter dip, not on my main figures, but on the rank and file troops. You can probably get just as good results from thinning down wood varnish, and somewhat cheaper, but I can'r face the hassle of getting the mix right. The stuff does tend to separate out in the tin if left for a while, so give it a good shake before use.

A more bizarre paint method was put forward by Frank Chadwick in the Space 1899 miniature game where you undercoat the figures white then use thinned (enamel) paint and leave the figure upside down, the paint accumulating in the creases to generate shadows. Sounded great, but never tried it.

I do wonder if you should use the above dips but leave them to dry upside down.

I have an ancient pot of GW flesh wash that gets used for rust and dirt, I do wonder if some of the darker washes would shade in a similar way. I have bought some of the GW blue wash for zombie flesh (and the odd Death Guard Zomble).

Seconded, At the minute I've picked up some of Copplestones Gangsters as some would fit in well with 60' 70's with the right paintjob. some i'm considering adding Crooked Dice heads to

If I had any spare, I would consider a Solomon head swap with one of the Gangster figures for a time/space travel episode of Department X.

And yes, I wish they would release some more figures.

What would be nice is a male and female dressed for swimming - separate heads of course. Think of the conversion possibilities!

Add weapons to the "bikini girl" - paint her with Blonde Hair and you have -

Use Afro Female Minion Head and you get -

Once again, the usefulness is obvious! I'm STILL finding uses for the Man from 3000 Body!

Brilliant, I'm also glad you've done the kid with a guitar.  I've been musing over that mini for a while now, but needed to see a good close up, so thanks!

Thanks, He is a nice figures especially all the folds in the clothing. The Guitar is a bit weird to attach theres no locating pins just the ridge from the strap that runs across the front and over the shoulder. theres no ridge in the guitar to attach it either so I stuck it on the way I thought looks best

Point of Order.

He might say "here's Johnny!" but the Johnny in question is Johnny Carson, the character was named Jack Torrance.

Police Car (price varies but this is the cheapest I could find today postage is always around £4.00 because of the size of the boxes so this is about average price for you'd win one for) sometimes you get pretty good auctions. (search 1/43 Police)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Metr.....;hash=item5aef74ac8a

VW Vans are really popular so its a case of dropping on the right one at the right time. (search 1/43 VW Van) not many at the moment there are soem buy it nows for around £10 depends on how quickly you want one.

I've bought from Hattons in the past with good service:  http://www.hattons.co.uk/

Prices vary, but you can pick up bargains and stock varies over time.

Looks like you can even fire up the Quattro!

Yep both Hasslefree. I already had Morgan B a while. But Hasslefree gave Morgan away as a freebie if you ordered from them whilst at salute.

Here the trenchcoat version she has a revolver than the small automatic.

Played my first proper game last night.

Welcome to the sleepy village of 'Cutbanks' where 008 Agent Craig Daniels is following a tip off is trailing a underworld facilitator rumoured to be doping horse's. Little did he know there was going to be a 'chance encounter' with underworld agent and his security staff in the sleepy village.

From May 14, 2013

Chose to play a chance encounter to familiarise myself with the rules again. 3x3 board (well section of dininig room table   ). Deployment was rolled randomly with the Villainous side deploying in a 1x1 square in the centre and Craig Daniels 008 (Bond thanks Drew) deploying 4" onto the board.

Bond 80 Ratings

Guard Force 63 Ratings
9 Guards (all with pistols, 2 smgs and 1 commander)

Lost track of turns but here is a summary of the action.

Both sides advance some of the guards hearing the sound of car engine proceed to investigate.

Bond first shot a guard between the eyes and then charged into melee against another but fluffed his to wound roll.

Bond then got pinned down and then a big scrap ensued as more guards gradually arrived and tried to subdue him at one point it was 4 to 1 but bond took them all out.

Unable to capture Bond, the guard commander order the smg guards to fire into the melee between Bond and the last guard, though random allocation both hits ended up hitting bond and then rolled double 6 to wound.

Bond took out the last guard in a heroic surge, flung two knives at the smg guards but missed.

Bond 008 won initiative advances towards the remaining 3 guards and takes one out in melee. Is then sprayed with bullets by the last smg guard which miss! But then the guard commanders final shot with his pistol takes Bond down with 6 followed by a 6 to wound.

I really enjoyed and it has geared me up to play a few more games. Can't wait to get my United Radionics guys painted up.

Had a cool present arrive in the post today from a friend in Slovenia. its a Promotion figure from Warm Acre games for there Spy or Die Trying game they are making. He's painted her to match my current guards and done a good job to! Got sent a funk dice as well which i'll use for the mini exclusively. I reckon she would make a good bodyguard for a villain. We are thinking of names for her at the minute.

Finished off my military cast. I had intended to use them solely for Department X but they will be used for all sorts so decided against specific markings on them for now. (besides I tried painting X on the sleeve badges and caps and it look awful!)

Anyway here is the completed force.

Corporal, Captain Banner and Sergeant Murphy

Soldiers with SMG (Corporal included)

Soldiers With Rifles

Sergeant Murphy and Dog Handler with Guard dogs

Better pic of the Guard dogs

Managed to get you one red fire jeep.  Very few of any kind left in the Poundshop locally now.  As usual, it appears to be a one-off stock.

The Sweeney's doing ninety 'cause they've got the word to go. They get a gang of villains in a shed up at Heathrow.

Been a while since I posted anything up. Having been quite excited by the Action engine inspired dungeon gaming in the Otherworld miniatures/Crooked Dice venture. I've been busy obtaining adventurers in advance.

Some of you may of seen them on facebook or my blog but here they are for those who view neither.

Tharzon Hammerfist,  Captain of the 'Fists of Iron' adventuring company.

Snorri Stoneheart

Snorri  is a mercenary fighter of the Fist of Iron Adventuring Company. Since listening to his Uncle Tharzon's tales of ancient treasures, daring battles against Orcs, Goblins and other strange creatures when visiting the family hold. All Snorri has ever wanted to do was become an adventurer. Snorri has spent many years training with his two handed axe and wandering around the family hold hunting goblins he is now old enough and has decided to leave the family home and seek his own path. His proud father Grommel Stoneheart understanding his son's wishes and thirst for adventure has gifted him with his old suit of heavy plate armour to protect him whilst his mother has gifted him with an an ornate warhammer that belonged to her grandfather nick named 'Crusher' Snorri now joins his Uncle and the Fists of Iron on there latest adventures.

Brother Theo Wyvernjack Cleric of Tymora (Lady Luck) he's always willing to accompany adventuring company's on there quests providing they make a donation to 'The Lady'. Those in need of a healer or destroying of undead infestations often call upon the service of this portly cleric. Equipped with his trusty mace, holy symbol and knowledge of healing Brother Theo always carries numerous potions of healing.

Currently in the employ of Tharzon Hammerfist and the 'Fists of Iron' adventuring company destination unknown.

Next up the two Mastiff War Dogs. I love painting dogs at the moment I have 6 in my collection so far and there such a nice change. No background for these two as yet. I'm not sure who they are to accompany or why. Just decided to name them for now.

Brom and Helm

I like adventurer with backpacks.  They're ready for a real adventure, "There and Back Again".

I also like your no fuss color scheme.  That what I find the thoughest when painting, finding which colors to paint them.

Very good, Brother Theo reminds me of an actor, but I cannot remember who (something to do with hypodermic needles).

Nope though his Frankenstein's monster for me is his most memorable role.

I was thinking Scott Handy and the otherwise forgettable Hunted.

Petril Shortcloak is a mercenary sellsword currently a member of the 'Fists of Iron' Adventuring company.  A husband and wife team Petril and his wife Kat are an excellent pair of fighters who work together well. Petril fends off foes with his trusty halberd whilst Kat shoots them down with accurate fire from her trusty crossbow. The Shortcloak's are still young for Gnomes and have a lust for exploring the world, adventure and of course treasure. They hope to one day earn enough gold to buy themselves an Inn, retire and settle down and raise a family
