SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

I hope there are a few different designs (hands covering face, peeping over hands and ready to pounce, for eg.) - I might just have to order about 30 of each (would make great statues for my Warhammer Undead army as well as DW stuff )

I would heartily encourage buying this many.

Expect three different poses.

You are about to be one VERY happy bunny.

"He had scurvy and rickets, and was covered from head to foot in festering sores. All in all he was quite the most ghastly apparition of a man I had ever seen."
"I see, and who exactly was this poor unfortunate?"

"That's you that is."

cool note to self, cure for clinical depression (or CYNICAL depression as my manager put it) comes in 28mm scale!

On a side note, I was thinking about this while I was dealing with someone's electricity and gas bill at work (heh, I'm good at multitasking): you could do the angels "scary statues" in such a way as to get multiple poses with lower cost - 1 body, 2 heads and 2 arm sets... then you can have them made up using fewer complete casts - just a thought...

We have found that the more 'bits' something comes in the bigger the space it takes up in the mould so the more the cost price is to get cast. Maximum flexibility, yes, but we have to balance that against charging neccessarily more for a single figure. As a small company we don't have economy of scale so we would like to keep things as cheap as we can while allowing us new funds to put into new miniatures.

Where PRACTICAL we will investigate components but the less ham-fisted will just have to buy our (albeit slightly cheaper than a metal kit) wares and get the knives/hacksaws out.

As it is with likely Statue 8 bodies and 8 sets of wings in a mould we end up with 8 complete minis from one spin; compare that to 8 Tweedy's AND 8 May's in the same mould space, and we are already either going to have to charge DOUBLE for an Angel compared to a Tweedy/May or take a hit on our profit margin to allow us to sell them for less than £7-8 each.

Karl and I haven't crunched the numbers yet but we will go with option 2 and let you know likely prices ASAP. What we do know is they will be available single or as a set of 3 (the default is one of each but you will be able to choose your own mix) for slightly cheaper.

Which I don't think you can say fairer than. Nice to see the positive response to the sculpts though. We are totally looking forward to Release 3. And we haven't even started on the Minion, which will also make an appearance.

Daisy...

really nice sculpt by Andrew Rae, due to appear on the Crooked Dice website, hence the extra effort (for me) on the base... chip and burger paper and crushed Fosters can made from Rizla... it will probably get rebased at some point as it won't match anything else and I have little to no urban terrain planned (dreamed of, but not planned)...

Since the chaps at CD have released pics of their scary statues, I thought I should probably get round to slapping some paint on the Angel conversions i did a while back...

If you look carefully, you can see that the Angel covering his face has been working out...

One on his lonesome - I swear there's more definition between the base colour and highlights in real life...

Had to be done...

The angels have the phonebox:

Wait, what? I think you're taking this too literally...

Which leads to what I actually painted:

I really, really need to learn how to take better pictures (my usual method being 'get the missus to do it'). Still contemplating whether to add some scrubby static grass to the bases too...

Mark Dixon has further painted versions of Tweedy and May over on his site - very nice stuff.
